  1. In the navigation tree of the Form Designer window, select the form name.

  2. Select the Rules tab in the right pane.

  3. Select the Visibility Rules option.

  4. Click Add Rule.

  5. In the If field, click Component Selector.

The Component Selector dialog box opens. You can only select the components marked with the Selectable icon.

  6. Select the question or custom data field you want to add and click OK.

  7. In the next field, select one of the following conditions:

    • =, Equals

    • <, Less than (where available)

    • >, Greater than (where available)

    • Is Either allows you to select more than one answer in the next field

    • Does not equal

If only one value is selected for the Is Either condition, the Equals condition is implemented in the rule. The next time you select this rule, it appears as an Equals rule, and not as an Is Either rule.

  8. In the next field, select one of the following answer types, based on the type of question and the symbol you selected in the previous step:

    • If the Equals condition is selected, select a list enabling multiple selection of values.

    • If the question is numeric or text, select a text field.

    • Select a list containing question answers.

  9. Define the visibility actions. See Define visibility actions.
